This smart gate acts as a dynamic aerodynamic air guide; it closes automatically at high speeds to reduce aerodynamic drag and improve fuel economy, and opens completely when engine temperature rises or when the A/C is turned on to ensure maximum airflow to the radiator.
Due to the comprehensive front-end facelift (Facelift) introduced on Ford F-150 trucks from the 2024 model through the current 2026 models, the structural frame design and shutter distribution completely differ from the (2021-2023) models. Damage to this system or broken vanes resulting from front-end collisions immediately illuminates the check engine light (Check Engine Light) and triggers electrical fault codes (such as P05A0) on the dashboard screen, along with the potential risk of vehicle overheating if the shutters get stuck in the closed position.
